Our aim is to help people who visit heritage assets to gain a better understanding and appreciation of our buildings, history and culture.

QR codes, NFC Tags, Augmented Reality and mobile mapping and GPS applications are just a few of the smartphone and other new technologies that we are investigating to help conservation and heritage bodies throughout the UK. Our aim is to help you make the most of your heritage assets and the way you get knowledge about the assets you manage across to a wider audience.

We would be interested in customers wishing to trial the following technologies:

• Expanding QR Codes for practical use into other heritage sites and areas
• Near Field Communication (NFC) using smartphones to scan NFC tags
• Augmented Reality to help provide extra visual information to visitors
• The use of video, especially YouTube channels to help aid conservation
• Creation of low cost architectural drawings via digital photo overlays
• Use of tools like Microsoft Office 365 to aid conservation collaboration
