The trebuchet was a fearsome machine

  • The biggest trebuchet believed to have ever been made was called Warwolf.
  • It was created in Scotland by order of King Edward Longshanks of England.
  • It was first used in anger during the siege of Stirling Castle in 1304.
  • The weapon took 5 master carpenters and 49 labourers 3 months to complete.
  • When dismantled it filled 30 wagons.
